Who am I?
My name is David Salmon aka ultradave and I enjoy expressing my artistic vision through photography and illustration. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA and started drawing my own characters at the age of 12. Tired of just copying other popular characters I began to create my own. I found myself constantly doodling and still do to this day. My first camera was a Kodak 110 when I was around 11 years old. I remember taking photos at Disneyland with that camera. In high school I took photography and bought a Minolta XG SLR 35mm camera for $100. It came with 2 lenses, although I don’t recall which ones, a sturdy camera bag, and a very flimsy tripod. I’ve always been very observant to details and so I really enjoyed this class, however, I wasn’t very fond of the instructor. I didn’t enjoy processing my own film either, nor did I like to wait to have film developed so I didn’t keep up with film photography after high school. But I did continue to create…
I am a father of 3 artistically minded children. 2 daughters and 1 son and they express their artistic vision through painting, illustration, sculpting, and photography.
Currently, my primary muse is Joshua Tree National Park. I have spent many hours there marveling at its beauty, especially the night skies. I enjoy landscape photography, astrophotography, and architectural photography and taking the occasional portrait.
I picked up my first DSLR in 2005. A Canon Rebel and that began my journey with digital photography. I have spent the last 2 decades taking photos for my own enjoyment and felt it was time to share my favorite photos with the world. Cheers!
